Letters I Never Sent

Letters I never sent
still live in the quiet corners of my mind—
folded whispers,
creased from being read a thousand times
but never spoken aloud.

They carry words
I was too shy to say,
feelings I was afraid to feel,
truths I wasn’t ready to face.

Some were apologies
waiting for the courage to fly,
some were thank-yous
that arrived too late,
and some were dreams
that slipped through the cracks
when I was looking the other way.

Maybe one day
they’ll find their voice,
or maybe their silence
was the lesson.

Because not every story
needs an ending,
and not every chapter
needs to be shared.

Sometimes
just writing the words
is enough to finally let them go.
