Once Mulla Nasruddin was looking unusually sad.
A friend passing by asked him,
“Why do you look so unhappy?”
Mulla sighed and said,
“My uncle died and left me ₹50,000 in his will.”
His friend smiled.
“That’s good news! Not everyone receives such a gift.”
Mulla shook his head sadly and continued,
“Just two days ago, another uncle passed away and left me ₹1,00,000.”
The friend looked surprised.
“You should be even happier now!”
Mulla added, almost mournfully,
“And today, yet another uncle died and left me ₹2,00,000.”
Now completely puzzled, the friend said,
“You’ve become rich without lifting a finger — ₹3,50,000!
Why are you still sitting here looking so miserable?”
Mulla replied quietly,
“The problem is… I don’t have any more uncles left to die.”
